JNU ,Bangalore Amnesty Internaional and our leaders

In JNU Kanhaiya Kumar and his gang caught rising Anti India slogans and supporting terrorists andc a case of sedition was slapped against them..
Political leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Arvind Kejriwal, Yechury and many others visited the students, supported them saying nothing wrong in what they did and the Government is suppressing "freedom of expression " and dissent. .they tried to have a photo opportunity and tried tomake maximum political mileage out of it ..news channels had a field day covering it day in and day out ..
Now a similar incident recently happened in Bangalore where at a seminar organized by a NGO turned out to be a platform for defaming the Indian Army and raising Anti India slogans and Bangalore police have filed a sedition case against them..
Now will all these leaders who visited and supported JNU students will do the same here also ..if not it exposes their double standards. .
They will not because they now realised that by supporting them they leaders have set their own tails on fire which is going to sting them badly ..
What happened in JNU is not an isolated incident because there is an all India network of persons and
NGO's who supports these forces ..They will be exposed and defeated ..
There is a frightening silence from the above mentioned leaders on the Bangalore incident which shows their real faces ..

Aamir Khan and Intolerance

The latest person to join the intolerance debate is Aamir Khan ..Reading the newspapers his wife feared the safety of his son and asked him it seems to leave India and to which country we should go  to live safely ...

After hearing this I wonder about the intellectual and understanding level of these people .Please Mr Khan explain what are those incidents which prompted him thinking of leaving India which till the other day he used to endorse as Incredible India ..

It also shows how media and the so called intellectuals blow out of proportion one off incidents as if some  fanatics have taken over the whole country ...Especially since it was the time Bihar elections the campaign was shrill...The whole thing was blamed on one person and all others are innocent ...Looks like with an eagerness to be seen as an intellectual Aamir also fell in to the same trap ...

Agreed some bad things had happened which should never have happened ..whoever are the culprits should be given harsh punishment no doubt about it ...but it is no justification for the wrong campaign of " intolerance " ..seeing the reactions of various politicians it has become a favourite subject for them to beat the government with ...To resolve this there should be an open  dialogue with all the stake holders and find ways that these things do not happen again ,The writers and other intellectuals who have their awards think their duty is over once they gave back the awards ..their timing also invoke suspicion of their intentions ...

when incidents happened in Dadri and Haryana politicians of all hues ,media made a beeline to these places with non stop coverage and statements blaming the the government and Modi for all the incidents. When BJP lost the election in Bihar these two incidents were blamed to be the reasons for the defeat ...

But what happened after that ? what happened to the cases ? the people arrested ? is an FIR is filed ?
A charge sheet filed ? no one knows ... No Channel or breaking news guys want to follow up on it ..

One leader visiting Dadri asked if it was a photo opportunity he angrily replied he will come here again and again ...he never turned up ... same with all other politicians ...

If the politicians and media were sincere in their intentions they should have followed up on the case ,made sure the right persons are arrested ,the correct FIR and chargesheet filed .They also should have pressed for a trial by a fast track court to give fast and harsh punishment for the culprits ...But that is not to be

They do not want the issue to end ,keep it alive and make maximum political mileage out of it ..use it in as many election as possible ...The government is also guily of not reigning in the hotheads who made provocative statements ..The issue is to disrupt the proceeding the in Parliament and prevent any meaningful business taking place ...

In my opinion Aamir Khan just added fuel to the fire which will help politicians to spread the meesage of hatred and divisiveness instead of hope ...Aamir Khan should have thought of  the proverb ..think before you speak .....and also about what you speak ....

Life -An Indian Perspective Continued

Humans are normally happiness seekers and constantly searching for it .Most us get momentary, temporary or short lived happiness. We never achieve permanent happiness or peace. In modern world most us are highly educated and have good knowledge in our subjects of interest. We may have high qualifications and certifications in Engineering,Computers,Accounting or Medicine but these are not capable of giving you ways to succeed in practical life .These will give you high jobs and a lot money but incapable of giving you happiness and peace for ever.

To cross the river of life which is full of storms and challenges we need the practical skills for it .If you want to cross a river you must know swimming ,you may know all about the river , the amount water it has , types of fish in it , the source of the river but if do not know swimming you may not able to cross the river .Like wise you need the practical knowledge to cross the river of life .

How to remove ignorance and get true knowledge which help us to realise our true nature and help us to achieve permanent happiness is been told to us by our great masters .But today these teachings are being used for selfish gains and fame. Most of us are ignorant of this and seek temporary happiness by visiting the modern day masters and seek their blessings.

Only when you know your true nature ,The Atman, you will achieve permanent peace and happiness. Meditation will help us in this quest .Will discuss more on this in the next post

Life -An indian Perspective

Gautama Buddha is one of the greatest spiritual leaders the world has seen. His life and teachings are of profound influence and inspiration for millions of people all over the world even today .The relevance of his teaching are increasing day by day in this violent and chaotic world .Given below is one of the many stories he has told during his life time .It is said that he used to narrate stories from his previous many births .

Once a merchant was  travelling through a forest .While walking he came face to face with a tiger , terrified he ran for his life with the tiger giving him a hot chase .Running blindly he reached  the top of a mountain .The tiger was closing in , there  was no place to run , the other side of the mountain was a deep gorge .He had no idea what to do now ,he looked a round and  saw a tree at the edge of the mountain .Looking closely he found the there was a big vine of the tree hanging down the gorge.H e caught hold of the vine and started climbing down the gorge .The tiger reached the top of the mountain and was looking at its prey and  waiting .The merchant was relieved as he escaped from the tiger and continued his climb down. Then he looked down and saw that horrific sight , a bunch of poisonous was waiting for him to climb down , terrified  he just hung on the vine.On the top the tiger waiting and down there are snakes he had no idea what to do .Suddenly heard a sound from the top, he looked up and saw two mice ,one black and another white ,eating away the vine .The vine will break at anytime and he fell in the midst of the snakes .Terrified he cried out loudly opening his mouth wide,at this time from the beehive that was on the top of the tree a drop of honey fell into his mouth .He forgot everything about his terrible situation in life and tasted the honey and exclaimed : what a sweet honey "

This story describes  the situation of a man of no knowledge (ajnani) .This describes the life and life experiences of this man.The mountain and the gorge described represents the world we live in ,the tiger and the snakes are the two ends of life ,birth and death. The vine represent the life span of the man .It is been eaten away by two mice ,white represents day and black represents night, which symbolishes the passing of time .The life of the man can end at anytime but even in this critical stage of his life ,he forgets his actual status and find happiness in food and other unimportant ,temporary things and says life is so sweet.

This story describes the state of life for most of us today .. will discuss in detail about this in the next post

Reflections

It has been sometime  that I was thinking about the future and the way of life currently lead by us .Being a part of the rat race always on the run ,your life is constantly compared with others .Victory or  success in life is measured by the amount of money you earn or the no of houses you own in comparison with other .There will never be an end to it .

Most of the time is spent on gadgets once you get up in the morning ,check the phone ,go to office spent the whole day staring at the laptop, spending time with people most of them are fake and appears friendly ,always looking forward for to way to cut you down and jump ahead .The bosses heap false praise on you and if you ask for something genuine they will come out with a list of policies how it cannot be done ,but they have done the same for their own sidekicks .we do not enjoy the days anymore .Time spent together with family is less, talking to each other is less ,most of the time spent on watching TV and watching videos on the net .it has become difficult to cope with all this ... thinking of way to come out of it ..try to find real joy in life and family ,enjoy your days ,spent time happily together ..determined to find a way out ..will do that in the near future while the reflections on life will continue everyday now

Festival Memories

It was cold and windy when I came out of the hall. It was an enchanting evening of Kathakali. The trauma of Nala and Damayanti lingers on my mind.On the way back home my mind went back to the old days in my native place. Our temple which is the main temple of the erstwhile royal family have eight days of festival very year. On seven days during the festival there will be Kathakali enacted by great masters after midnight .We will be eagerly waiting for those days. From the first day itself all members of our family plus our neighbours will go to the festival.  We will start after having dinner and walk to the temple.By the time we reach there the procession of fifteen beautifully decorated elephants would have started accompanied by the Chenda ( Drum) melam. It is lovely sight to see the elephants in all their splendour in the oil lights.Elders will settle down in a comfortable place in the temple grounds. From then on we children are free to roam the whole place.

We will go near the elephants and watch closely how they eat the coconut leaves enjoying the Melam fanning their mighty ears.We also watch playing of various instruments in the melam with great wonder.Next thing in our routine is to go to the make up room  to watch the Kathakali artists sleeping while assistants are putting the make up .We watch the scene with great amusement. By the time we do all these the melam would be over.It will be well past midnight and it's time to see kathakali.

Though we do not know much about the complex proceedings our elders will tell us about the story of the day so that we will have an overall picture. We will watch the performance for some time after that we will become impatient. We will start roaming the temple grounds again. Now it is the time to see elephants sleeping lying on the ground with their trunks inside their mouths and snoring . It is our great chance to touch the gentle giants. We will see how each elephant sleeps and then go back to the performance .It would have reached it's climax by now.I clearly remember how horrified we children were on seeing the killing of Dushasana by Bheema. It was a great scene enacted by renowned masters. When the show will be over it will be dawn.Overcome by sleep we will start our walk back home. We children will sleep till noon dreaming about the elephants ,Kathakali, and the festival. The routing will go on for 8 days.

It was a really great time. Though this evening's show was good that experience have no substitute.

Wisdom of the Bhagavad Geetha -Song of the Lord

For all the human beings suffering from delusion, depression, self doubt , anger , arrogance and all other illusions to come out of it , here is some wise words

Lord Krishna Says :

"Fix your mind in Me only, place your intellect in Me only , then you shall no doubt live in Me alone "

This can be achieved by meditating on the Lord .Meditation is not a physical act but it is an art developed by the inner personality in human beings .Every one who seeks divine wisdom will be experiencing a situation in which what his intellect accepts the heart do no accept , what  heart accepts the intellect do not accept. To bring both the head and the heart to the divine feeling of satisfaction will happen if we harness our inner selves to the spiritual effort .
